The UK-based magazine ‘Times Higher Education’ has published its World University Rankings for 2025 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, no Bangladeshi university made it into the top 800.
This year, 24 universities from Bangladesh were included in the rankings, with 17 receiving direct rankings and 7 listed as reporters.
Leading the Bangladeshi universities is Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, followed by Daffodil International University, Jahangirnagar University, Jashore University of Science and Technology, and North South University.
Last year, BRAC University ranked first among Bangladeshi institutions, but it has dropped to 8th place this year, now positioned globally between 1001 and 1200.
In total, over 2,000 universities from 115 countries participated in this year's rankings. North South University and Jahangirnagar University maintained their positions from last year, while three new universities have entered the rankings.
