Though coronavirus menace took a pandemic form around the globe and the country people are also highly susceptible to be attacked with this virus, there is no kits to check the virus and no thermal scanner to measure body temperature anywhere in Rajshahi. As a result, people of Rajshahi remain under darkness whether they have been attacked with coronavirus or not.
Moreover, there is also no activity of creating mass awareness about the mode and fatality of the virus from any organisation excepting introduction of separate Coronavirus Unit and formation of a number of committees to deal with the virus-infected patients.
Rajshahi Medical College Hospital authorities , however, have already kept 30-bed ready at the Infectious Disease Hospital and decision has also been taken to turn three stadiums of the city as Quarantine Centres for treating and sheltering corona patients. Meanwhile city people were worried at the absence of any kit or any Thermal Scanner in city Hospitals to check and detect corona attacked patients.
Though a number of non-government organisations in the city have started to distribute mask and publicity to maintain cleanliness and hygiene, no such step has so far been taken from either from the local administration or from Rajshahi City Corporation.
Saiful Ferdous, Deputy Director of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital informed, RMCH authorities have already sent a demand note for supplying kits and Thermal Scanners to check the corona patients to the concerned Ministry and hope to get those within a short time.
Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Hamidul Haque said, people arriving in Rajshahi from abroad or from outside Rajshahi are under increased vigilance. It any person seem to carry the virus, he will be kept in isolation for testing and treatment.
