Local government minister Tajul Islam claimed that the country is now stable and self-sufficient in food and there is no shortage.
He said, "Bangladesh has reached the stage of a developing country. The country is self-sufficient in food, there is no shortage. Everyone has food, clothes, education. This is possible because all the people of the country are united.”
The minister was speaking at the inaugural function of development projects in 18 new wards of DNCC on Sunday.
Addressing other political parties, Tajul Islam said, "Some people are not able to see these developments. They don't see good things, they just see the bad in they government. Today every house in the country has electricity. However, in their time they could not provide this.”
Those who conspire against the country cannot be listened to, he added.Thanking the Prime Minister, the Local Government Minister said, "Now the number of murders and rapes has come down. Girls are able to move freely at night. All this has been possible for the benefit of the Prime Minister.”
Speaking on the development projects in 18 new wards of DNCC, the minister said that there is no need to dig roads for regular gas-water-electricity-sewerage lines in these wards. These will be developed in a planned and modern way. As a result, people will be able to live a better life.
“The rivers around the capital are being improved. Excavation work is underway. River boundary pillars have already been erected. As a result, the city's drainage system is much better than before,” said Tajul Islam.
As Dhaka has not developed as planned, it is gradually becoming uninhabitable. I hope that the 18 new wards attached to the DNCC would be better developed better than the previous developments in Dhaka.
