Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal on Wednesday said there is no security threat during the celebrations of the upcoming Mujib Borsho.
The entire nation is eagerly waiting to celebrate the yearlong birth centenary progamme of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he added.
The minister was speaking to the media after the second meeting of the security sub-committee on the celebration of the Mujib Borsho at the Secretariat in Dhaka.
Kamal said, “There is no specific intel on any possible unrest centering the Mujib Bhorsho. “
“However, we will strictly monitor social media platforms to check the spreading of misinformation and propaganda as part of the security measures,” he added.
Kamal said, “The inaugural ceremony of Mujib Borsho will be held at Dhaka's old airport and parade ground with more than one lakh visitors being expected to join.
“We will issues the traffic advisory on the occasion later,” he added.
He further said, “There will be adequate security measures for all the programs marking Mujib Borsho at city corporations, division, districts and upazila.”
Replying to a question of Indian Prime Minister’s upcoming visit, he said, “I'd refer to what the Awami League general secretary (Obaidul Quader) had spoken of the issue."
