Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq has said that there is no scope of discussion about caretaker government.
“I want to make it clear that the apex court in its judgment has declared caretaker government system illegal and conflicting to the constitution,” the law minister said this while talking to journalists at the Secretariat on Thursday.
The parliament has passed the15th amendment as per the judgement of the apex court and now there is no scope of bringing back the provision of
caretaker government, Anisul added.
The minister further said that it is clearly stated in the constitution that when the
election will be held, and the Election Commission (EC) will declare the election date as per law.
Replying to a question on empowering Ansar battalion members to detain
offenders and frisk detainees, the law minister said the home minister has
clearly stated that Ansar is not getting such power.
