No outdoor celebration on31st Dec night

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Tuesday issued some restrictions and instructions for New Year celebrations like every year.

DMP requested all citizens to follow these restrictions and instructions. However, police did not impose any ban to organise any indoor programme for celebrating the upcoming English new year 2021.

No gathering or celebration on rooftops, roads, flyovers or public places on December 31 will be allowed.

DMP will not allow any open cultural programme and no fireworks will be permitted also.

Bars would remain closed after 6:00pm on that day.

People will be allowed to celebrate the New Year at hotels. But police will not allow to organsie any DJ parties at the hotels. 

According to the DMP press release, outsiders will be restricted at Dhaka University campus after 6:00pm on December 31.

However, teachers and other employees of Dhaka University who live in campus will be able to enter the university area through Nilkhet and Shahbagh entrances after showing their identity cards to the police.

 No outsiders will be allowed to enter Gulshan and Banani area after 8pm on December 31. However, residents can enter through Kakoli and Amtoli points.

DMP requested people residing in other areas not to enter Gulshan, Banani, Baridhara and Dhaka University areas. After 8:00pm no one would be allowed to stay in Hatirjheel area on December 31.

People who live at Gulshan, Banani and Baridhara areas of the capital are requested to return home before 8:00pm on December 31.
