Internationally acclaimed director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's film titled ‘No Land's Man’, has been selected for 25th PÖFF-Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (TBNFF).
The film ‘No Land's Man’ stars Indian actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead and Bangladeshi singer and actor Tahsan Khan, Australian actor Megan Mitchel as well.
The director is all set to present the film there; expressing his excitement Farooki himself shared the news on social media through his verified Facebook profile he said, "The next stop for ‘No Land's Man’ is PÖFF | Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. The film is in the Current Waves section in a company of some good films. I will present the film and will join the Q&A. And oh I have another job in Tallinn this year. I will again be on their jury. This time for the first feature competition."
The prestigious film festival held since 1997 in Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia, holds both competitive and non-competitive programmes. According to the POFF-Black Night Film Festival website, The 'Current Waves' is a non-competitive programme which offers a panoramic view of the trends and currents of world cinema, including a selection of festival favourites and fresh films that have caught the eye of the festival's programme team.
The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, which began on November 12, will conclude on November 28, 2021. Farooki will also join as a Jury member for the first feature competition. Recently the film ‘No Land's Man’ also premiered at the Busan International Film Festival and was nominated for the Kim Jiseok Award.
‘No Land's Man’ was the recipient of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and Asia Pacific Screen Awards' Script Development fund in 2014. It was part of the Asian Project Market at Busan, and was the Best Project at India's Film Bazaar that year. It has been shot across New York, India, and Australia.
