State Minister for Religious Affairs Advocate Sheikh Md. Abdullah has said this year’s Hajj management is devoid of irregularities and sufferings, reports BSS.

“At the beginning of the Hajj journey, I mentioned that none will be spared if he or she indulges in irregularities. Everything went fine so far. No flight has yet been cancelled. Hope, there will be no problem. And we are very much aware of taking care of Hajj pilgrims,” he said.

The state minister made the comments replying to a query from a journalist after visiting Hajj camp at Ashkona in the city on Saturday.

The officials, who have entrusted with the task of serving the Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia, were given directives to perform their duties without flaws, he said.

Hajj Camp Director Saiful Islam, Hajj Agency Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) President M Shahadat Hossain and other officials concerned accompanied the state minister during the visit.

Three flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying 1,253 Hajj pilgrims and six flights of Saudi Airlines carrying 2,146 Hajj pilgrims left the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Sunday.

According to Hajj Camp and Biman Bangladesh Airlines sources, a total of 127,198 pilgrims will perform Hajj this year. Of them, 7,198 Hajj pilgrims will perform Hajj under government management.
