Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Tuesday said no incident of push-in has happened and no nationals except Bangladeshis will be allowed in the country through boarder. He made the remark while talking to newsmen at his secretariat office in the capital.

Kamal said, “There is no incident of pushing in through the border. Above all, we will not allow anyone to enter our land except Bangladeshi nationals.” When reporters informed the minister that Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested some people when they were trying to enter Bangladesh, he said that he does not have any information in this regard.

However, he said, “If they are Bangladeshis, we may receive them. But if they are not Bangladeshi nationals, we shall not accept them.” There may have happened some scattered incident that some individuals tried to enter Bangladesh through border for personal reasons whom the BGB had arrested, and the number of such people might be a few hundred at best, he added.

The home minister further said some people, mainly Rohigyas who had entered India earlier, in small groups of ten, twenty-five or fifty, were making attempts to enter Bangladesh through various borders. “But BGB did not allow them to enter. We shall not allow anyone without verifying identities. This is our position. Our BGB personnel is also well aware of this,” he said.
“Many Bangladeshis go to India with valid visa and passports. Sometimes the tenure of visa of many of those expires before they come back to the country. In such cases they are sent back to Bangladesh. If the incidents are like this, definitely we shall receive them.” There is nothing to be worried, he added.
