‘No food crisis in country’

Planning minister MA Mannan has said that there is no shortage of food in the country. He said this while speaking at relief distribution programme on the premises of Dakshin Sunamganj Upazila Parishad on Thursday. 

He distributed cash of Tk 5 lakh among 340 extremely poor, destitute families of 8 unions of the upazila from the voluntary fund.

MA Mannan said, “Everyone should be aware of the pandemic coronavirus situation. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given utmost importance to dealing with this disaster. 

Food is being delivered from house to house on the instructions of Prime Minister. By the grace of Almighty Allah, there is no shortage of food in the country. 

Therefore, there is no reason to be afraid. By the command of Allah, Sheikh Hasina’s government should not have left anyone without food. You stay at home. We will deliver the food.”

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) South Sunamganj Jebun Nahar Shammi, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Nur Hossain, Upazila Cooperative Officer Masud Ahmed, Planning Minister's Private and others were present.
