The Dhaka International FolkFest and International Literature Festival ‘Dhaka Lit Fest’ will not be organized this. The organizers have no plans to hold either of these events online or on a digital platform. This decision was made because of corona. According to the organizers, the next Lit Fest will be held in 2022.
Regarding the ‘Dhaka International FolkFest’, Ajay Kumar Kundu, Chief Operating Officer of Mediacom Limited, an organization of Square Group, said that the whole world has got a different look today because of corona. In this situation the festival cannot be organized. And that is why we are not organizing any Dhaka International FolkFest this year. When the situation improves and normalcy returns, we will take the initiative to organize the festival again.
Director of Dhaka Lit Fest Sadaf Saaz Siddiqi said, “The next event will be the 10th anniversary of Dhaka Lit Fest. We started working towards that goal. But because of Corona, we had to change our plan. At Lit Fest, we have been in contact with poets, writers, thinkers from all over the world for a long time. That’s how we were inviting so many for the upcoming Lit Feast. The tenth event was originally scheduled for January 2021. But due to this situation, the event will be held in January 2022. We are working towards that goal.”
