Country’s popular blender brand ‘Vision Blender’ organized daylong PithanondoUtshab on Monday to uphold the bangalipitha-puli culture among the urban people. This year, nine contestants won the Pithanondini Prize-2021 through exhibiting their home made pitha in the contest.
Participants attended the contest through registration and exhibited their pitha in three categories. The contestants exhibited chitoi, vhapa, puli, patishapta, pantuapitha in steam and dry category, dudhpuli, dudhchitoi, khejurpitha, khirpulipitha under juice and wet pitha category and malpua, narkel, kulshi, chuipitha in fried oil category. Vision also arranged to deliver different types of pitha to the visitors at the utshab.
The panel consist of five members selected the three winners from each category as first, second and third. The judges were international celebrity chef Tony Khan, culinary expert Nazma Huda, KalpanaRahman, Tania Sharmin and nutritionist IsratJahan.
The winners of first and second received Vision washing machine and 2nd runner up got Vision microwave oven. Suprita Paul, Advisor of PRAN-RFL Public School handed over the prizes to the winners as a chief guest. MahabuburRahman, Chief Operating Officer at Vision Electronics was also present at the program.
About the program, Mahabubul Wahid, General Manager (Marketing) at Vision Electronics said, “Pitha-puliis a part of life and culture of the Bengali people. Generally, people in villages are get involved to make various kinds of pitha in winter season and the times during fresh paddy comes in house and make powder by ‘dheki’. Now, our city’s female family members are also making various pitha in the house with the assistant of blender.”
