Published : 08 Nov 2024 07:29 PM

Nikon’s new Z50 II mirrorless camera introduces significant upgrades for both photographers and videographers.

Featuring a 20.9MP APS-C sensor and the EXPEED 7 processor, it promises improved autofocus, 3D tracking, and better image processing. The camera can shoot up to 30 frames per second with its electronic shutter and supports pre-release capture for faster shots.

Petapixel.com published an article by Jaron Schneider on Wednesday, which served as the basis for this news report.

One standout feature is the dedicated Picture Control button, giving users quick access to 31 colour presets and customisable settings for both photos and videos. Nikon’s Imaging Cloud also allows for easy downloads of custom colour profiles from notable creators.

For video, the Z50 II offers 4K recording (oversampled from 5.6K), N-Log in 10-bit, and a waveform monitor for precise exposure control. It’s designed for hybrid creators, with a pop-up flash, mic/headphone jacks, and UVC live-streaming support.

Available in November 2024, the Z50 II starts at $909.95.
