Nigeria took coronavirus medicine from Bangladesh by sending emergency plane on Sunday.
The foreign ministry in a statement said Nigerian foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama phoned his Bangladesh counterpart DrAK Abdul Momen in the early morning of June 6 and sought permission for emergency landing of their plane.

One of their governors is seriously ill due to coronavirus and that’s why they needed Remdesivir injection which is being produced by Bangladesh pharmaceutical companies.
They sent chartered flight from the capital Abuja.

The flight landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5pm and after collecting the medicines flew back.
Dr Momen told Bangladesh Post that he received the phone call after midnight at 2am Bangladesh time.

“I was surprised to get the call. When I heard this, I was very happy and I instantly asked for the details,” he said, adding that he later forwarded the details to the relevant authority.
Nigeria will also import those drugs and PPE from Bangladesh if they found effective, the foreign ministry said.
