NID becomes mandatory for govt job recruitment

The National Identity Card (NID) is being made mandatory along with other documents for government job recruitment. For this reason, the Election Commission (EC) has taken the initiative to include the issue in the relevant legal framework of public administration.

Director General of the National Identity Registration Division, SM Humayun Kabir, came up with the disclosure at a press conference held at the Election Building in Agargaon on Tuesday.

He said, "A large portion of those whose NIDs we correct are government employees. Previously, they used to receive their salaries through vouchers."

They receive their salary on NID basis through iBUS. This includes their livelihood, salary, allowances, child support, etc.

It has been made mandatory to pay in iBUS. Some offices have said that if the NID is not correct, the salary will be stopped forever. Then they go to the ibus, from the ibus they go to their office, they say they have nothing to do. Then they come to us. Even if they come to our office, many times they cannot be corrected directly. Many times they cannot even be released.

The Director General of the National Identity Registration Division said, "We correct those that can be easily given. For those that cannot be done, we try to resolve them through higher authorities."

This is a problem for us, for the country and for all those affected. The attendees were encouraged and said that we need to follow this.

In response to a question about whether NID will be brought within the framework of public administration law to make it less restrictive in recruitment, he said, "It is already within a legal framework."

In the field of public administration, more importance is given to the SSC certificate. We will take the initiative to bring the NID into the public administration law that everyone follows. We requested them to inform the ministry about the offices or institutions - such as schools, universities, colleges - to take NID into account. They told us that they would inform us, We requested them to inform the ministry about the offices or institutions - such as schools, universities, colleges - to take NID into account.
