An NGO worker at Benapole land port was killed by miscreants at Durgapur village in Benapole early on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Al Amin, 25, son of Mizanur Rahman of Durgapur village of Benapole. He worked at the Benapole land port's shed no 37.
According to police and the family members of the victim, some unidentified people called Al Amin out of his home early on Monday. Later his body was found at the backside of his resident.
Mamun Khan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Benapole Port Police Station, said that police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Jashore General Hospital Morgue for autopsy. Police suspected that Al Amin was strangled to death by some miscreants.
