Just five days after wedding, a housewife committed suicide by hanging at Chitalmari of Bagerhat district on Feburary 16 night.
The deceased housewife was identified as Puja Biswas(18) wife of Goutam Patra(25) of village Majhipara under Hijla Union and daughter of Bhawani Biswas of village Melarkul under Kalatola union of Chitalmari Police Station.
Police recovered the dead body of the victim on February-17 morning and sent it to the morgue of Bagarhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
An unanatural death case has been filed with the police station in this connection.
Biplob Biswas, elder brother of Puja informed, on April 12 night, the marriage of his younger sister Puja Biswas held with Goutam Patra according to the Hindu religion.
On February 15, his elder sister and the brother-in-law went to the house of Goutam.
On February 16 night, Puja and her husband went to sleep after the dinner.
Around 12-00 midnight, Goutam awakened from sleep and saw his wife was not in her room.
After searching, the dead body of his wife Puja was seen hanging with a branch of a mango tree wrapped with her saree backside of the house.
Ikram Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Chitalmari Police Station informed, the dead body of the housewife has been sent to the morgue for autopsy to determine the real cause of death.
Biplob Biswas, brother of Puja, has filed a UD case with the Police station.
