The newly elected UP chairmen of 30 Union Parishads under Kashiani Upazila and Muksudpur Upazila of Gopalganj district have been sworn in.
On Tuesday (December 26) afternoon, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Shahida Sultana was present at a function held at Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner's Conference Room "Transparency" and administered the oath of office to all chairmen of 14 unions of Kashiani Upazila and 18 Union Parishads of Muksudpur Upazila.
Earlier, the district administration congratulated each chairman with flowers. Gopalganj Deputy Director of Local Government (Acting) Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) said. Iqbal Hossain, District Awami League Senior Vice President Sheikh Mohammad Ruhul Amin, newly elected UP chairmen, other officials of the local government department along with media personnel working in print and electronic media in the district were present.
Deputy Commissioner Shahida Sultana gave various important directions in the hope that they would fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to them as servants in their respective unions as public representatives for the next five years under the Ministry of Local Government.
