Newly elected body of Inner Wheel takes office

The newly elected executive body of the Inner Wheel was formally launched on Monday at a city hotel with the theme – ‘Together we can’.

Tahia Khalil, Chairperson of the executive body said that the women’s voluntary organisation plans to reach even more beneficiaries during her tenure (July-June) and hence expand services to humanity. Speaking at a press briefing Tahia said, “We reach over 78 lakh under privilege people annually who need support like continuing education, treatment of cancer, menstruation hygiene, eye care, surgeries and many more social needs.” “As the theme speaks for itself,” Tahia said, “We want to be stronger, innovative and inspiring in achieving our missions that we are pursuing since 1979, the year the organisation started its campaign in Bangladesh. It is time we reach out people in inaccessible regions where they remain unserved or underserved.”

Munira Khan, a former district (328) chairperson said, “The Bangladesh chapter of Inner Wheel is well recognized globally for its philanthropic works, particularly in helping the poor.
