Newcastle United have submitted a formal offer to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, according to Sky Sports News. The bid, worth €75million plus €5m in add-ons (£69.8m in total), meets the Bundesliga club’s valuation of the 22-year-old Slovenia international.
It is understood Newcastle have also outlined their long-term project to Sesko and made clear their desire to bring him to St James’ Park this summer.
Sesko is now considering his options, with Manchester United also in the running. The forward is said to be open to both proposals.
Sesko scored 21 goals in all competitions for Leipzig last season and has long been seen as one of Europe’s brightest young strikers. He joined the German club from sister side Red Bull Salzburg in 2023. The Magpies are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign and view Šeško as a marquee addition.
