New Zealand today expressed its keenness to develop existing trade relations with Bangladesh, especially in health technology, energy, marine transport, telecommunications, aviation, food and agriculture sectors, reports BSS.
Trade Commissioner and Consul General of New Zealand Consulate Ralph Hays expressed his country’s eagerness at a New Zealand-Bangladesh roundtable at a hotel in the city, said a press release.
Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and New Zealand Commerce Ministry organised the roundtable. FBCCI Vice President Rezaul Karim Rejnu presided over the roundtable while Honorary Consul for New Zealand in Bangladesh Neaz Ahmed, among others, was present on the occasion. Rezaul Karim Rejnu emphasized on Bangladesh’s stable macro-economic growth trajectory and its development in past decade.
He said FBCCI is working on some critical issues, including knowledge transfer for third industrial revolution (3IR) to fourth industrial revolution (4IR), regulatory planning, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), industry-academia gap assessment and technology transfer.
Ralph Hays said New Zealand is very keen to increase its trade with Bangladesh as it is the fastest growing countries among the South Asia.
