New SUST students get health and life insurance

The admission process for the academic year 2021-22 has started at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. Parents have to face the dilemma that the admission fee has increased compared to last year. However, this year the GST fee is Tk 5000 and the students have to pay Tk 10000 for final admission to SUST. Three new sectors have been added to this year's admission process.

On Monday evening, admission committee Convenor Professor Dr Rashed Talukder informed to Bangladesh Post.

It is known that the tuition for students in the 2021–22 session is Tk 450. Apart from this, union fee is Tk 100, extracurricular activities Tk 150, medical fee Tk 120, library fee Tk 175, transport fee Tk 550, rover scout fee Tk 25, BNCC fee Tk 25, syllabus fee Tk 400, curriculum fee Tk 100, life Insurance and health insurance 500 taka (last year was 200), drug addiction test fee 500 taka (last year was 400), total 4 thousand 800 taka, student welfare fee 300 taka, festival fee 100 taka, admission and ancillary (one time) 700 Tk, registration fee Tk 430 and identity card fee Tk 175 is being charged. On the other hand, the development fee of the department (students' facilities) is tk 5 thousand (last time it was tk 3 thousand), and the attachment fee is tk 500 (last time it was tk 400).

However, in this year's admission process, three new sectors have been added, said Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed. He said, this time 100 taka is being charged in the proctorial service sector, 3 thousand 400 taka in the admission processing sector, 1 thousand 200 taka in the departmental computer/lab development sector and a total of 10 thousand 200 taka. He said that these fees have been determined according to the decision of the academic council.
