New red-green bogies coming from Indonesia will be added to the Subarna Express train on the Chittagong-Dhaka route on November 3 some 14 years after it got white bogies from China in 2006.
Railway Eastern Divisional Manager (DRM) Sadequr Rahman confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Post. With the new bogies, there will be 8 AC chairs, 7 Shovan chairs, guard brakes, dining room (where an AC guard brake used to work on a Chinese white rack).
However, the new Subarna Express will have 890 seats – some nine seats less than the previous total. Tickets for white bogie Subarna Express will go on sale for the last time on October 24 while sale of red-green bogie tickets begins on October 25.
