Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Chattogram region office bearers led by first vice president Syed Nazrul Islam, vice president Rakibul Alam Chowdhury along with directors have taken charge of office for the term 2024-2026. Former vice-president AM Chowdhury Salim, former directors SM Sajedul Islam, Farhad Abbas, M Mohiuddin Chowdhury, Anjan Shekhar Das, Mohammad Tanveer, Mohammad Atiq, Khandaker Belayat Hossain, Saif Ullah Mansur, Enamul Aziz Chowdhury, AM Shafiul Karim (Khokon), Md Hasan (Jacky) and a large number of garment owners were present on the occasion.
BGMEA former first vice-president Shahabuddin Ahmed, former first vice president SM Abu Tayyab also spoke among others.
They said the present board will continue all efforts to solve any problem in the garment sector.
"We will carry forward the unfinished work of our successors through united efforts. If necessary, the former leaders will come forward with full cooperation to the current board of directors at any time." The re-elected first vice-president Syed Nazrul Islam recalled the overall cooperation of the outgoing directors from the side-lines. He sought the sincere cooperation of the honorable members of BGMEA during his tenure of the new board.
This is to mention that the Sammilito Parishad won 35 posts (26 posts in Dhaka and 9 posts in Chattogram) in the 2024-2026 term of the Board of Directors of BGMEA.
