A new song titled ‘Egiye Jao Nari’ has been created to inspire women with stories about lives of women of all times in all countries. Foad Nasser Babu composed the music based on the lyrics of Mahmud Khurshid. Sushmita Anis, Elita Karim, Kona and Priyanka gave voice in this.
Last Tuesday, a ceremony was organised at a restaurant in Gulshan, Dhaka on the launching of the song. Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury was present as the chief guest.
She said in her speech, “It is a wonderful song. This song is a song about the awakening of women of all countries of all times. I really liked the song. In this song all the chances of a woman’s life are raised. Out of the house, every woman has to work facing various obstacles. Ensuring women’s safety is our biggest challenge now. Overcoming these obstacles, women are moving forward. Bangladesh is a role model of women’s empowerment. Thanks to Sushmita Anis for taking such an initiative.”
Advisor to former Caretaker Government and Chairman of ARLINKS Limited Rokeya Afzal Rahman, Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited Rupali Chowdhury, Independent Director of Mutual Trust Bank (MTB) Limited Nasrin Sattar, Co-founder and Director of Persona Hair and Beauty Limited Kaniz Almas Khan and President and Managing Director of Bank Asia Md Arfan Ali were present at the programme.
Also present were lyricist Mahmud Khurshid, music composer Fowad Nasser Babu. The vocalists are Sushmita Anis, Elita Karim, Kona and Priyanka.
