New Gopalganj mayor pays tribute to Bangabandhu

All the councilors of the reserved and general wards paid their respects under the leadership of the newly elected mayor of Gopalganj Municipality Sheikh Rakib Hossain at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara of Gopalganj on Monday.

On reaching Tungipara, Mayor Sheikh Rakib Hossain along with all the elected councilors paid deep respect by offering floral wreath at the altar of Bangabandhu Samadhi Soudh. Meanwhile, Prime Minister's APS-2 Gazi Hafizur Rahman Liku, Gopalganj District Awami League Senior Vice President Sheikh Mohammad Ruhul Amin, Member Ed. Taibur Rahman, councilor of reserved ward Amena Begum, Mahfuza Akhter Lipi, Khadija Parveen, Nazmin Khanam, Achia Begum, general ward councilor Zobair Islam Jhantu, Md. Alimuzzaman Bitu, Rashed Mohammad, Roni Hossain (Black), Khairul Islam, Abdul Jalil Khan, Shafiqur Rahman Shukti, Md. Ebadul Haque (Palash), Mohammad Nazmul Hasan (Nazim), Sheikh Rashed Ahmed (Rico), Md. Kazi Riazul Islam (Prince), Al Amin, Md. Al Amin Sikder (Kutu), Shariful Islam Sikder, Niamul Hasan (Amin) and other officials of the municipal council were present.

Later, after reciting the holy Fateha and Durood, the mayor took everyone and prayed for the forgiveness of the souls of Bangabandhu and all the martyrs killed in his family on August 15, 1975, wishing the good health and long life of Bangabandhu's daughter, the Honorable Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina.After that, the mayor wrote comments in the inspection book kept in Bangabandhu Bhavan and signed it.
