The seventh edition of the ‘Mujib’ graphic novel has been released at the Amar Ekusehy Book Fair.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who is the ‘uncredited sub-editor’ of the novel unveiled the cover at the Center for Research and Information (CRI) stall on Bangla Academy premises on Sunday, the opening day of the fair.
Radwan Mujib Siddiq, a grandson of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and CRI Trustee, handed over a set of all the editions of Mujib Graphic Novel to the Prime Minister on the occasion.
The entire graphic novel series is based on the ‘The Unfinished Memoirs’ of Bangabandhu, written during his incarceration.
This is being presented in 12 parts of the graphic novel series, according to CRI which is publishing the novel, first of its kind in Bangladesh.
It is aimed at raising keenness among children and teenagers to learn about Bangabandhu and the nation’s history.
After publishing an unfinished autobiography of Bangabandhu, his grandson Radwan Siddiq took an initiative to transform it into a graphic novel in an attempt to present the eventful life of the independence leader to the younger generation in an attractive manner. The first volume of Mujib was published on Mar 17, 2015.
On the seventh edition, Radwan Siddiq earlier in a Facebook post said the prime minister, daughter of Bangabandhu, corrected every minute mistake and distortion of the history in the novel.
“Grateful to our uncredited sub-editor for her hard work,” he wrote on facebook.
