Comilla University Management Studies department assistant professor Kazi Omar Siddiqi took charge as the new proctor (acting) of the University on Wednesday.
CoU Deputy Registrar Md. Amirul Haque Chowdhury, appointed him for the post on Tuesday.
The notice issued by the Deputy Registrar reads, Kazi Omar Siddiqi was appointed to the post as tenure of previous proctor Professor Dr. Kazi Mohammad Kamal Uddin had ended recently.
However, no tenure of the newly appointed proctor was mentioned in the notice.
Newly appointed proctor (acting) Omar Siddiqi said that he would work for the betterment of the university with the assistance of the teachers, students, officials and employees of the institution.
‘I seek cooperation from all to work for the betterment of the university’, he added.
