Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University (BDU) has started the first class of the first year of Bachelor (Honours) class in the academic year 2021-22.
Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Dr Muhammad Mahfuzul Islam welcomed the new students of the Internet of Things (IOT) and ICT in Education (ICTE) program with flowers on the first day of the start of classes on January 15, 2023 (Sunday). Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Mahbubul Alam Joarder and Treasurer Professor Dr Anwar Hossain were also present at the ceremony.
At this time, the honorable vice-chancellor of the university. Muhammad Mahfuzul Islam said, I want to make BDU one of the best universities in Bangladesh within the next four years. For that, the manner in which the best internationally recognized universities are run will soon be incorporated in BDU.
Vice-Chancellor said, We are working towards the goal that the students of BDU after completing their graduation can proudly say I am a graduate of BDU.
I am expecting everyone's cooperation for that.
Professor Dr Muhammad Mahfuzul Islam said, We are trying to provide industry oriented education to our students. Every subject we have here is useful to build a smart Bangladesh in today's world. Very soon in our university we are working to provide degrees to students in subjects like Cyber Security, Game Development, Machine Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering.
In the presence of the teachers and fresh students, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Mahbubul Alam Zoardar, Treasurer Professor Dr Anwar Hossain, Head of Education Department (Additional Charge) and Assistant Professor Ashrafuzzaman, Information and Communication Technology Department were present. Chairman and Assistant Professor Samchuddin Ahmed spoke at the programme.
