(Mirzapur) the newly built Central Shaheed Minar financed by Khan Ahmed Shuvo, Member of Parliament of Tangail-7 at Mirzapur has been inaugurated.
Fazlur Rahman Khan Faruk (Ekushey Medalist), Chairman of Tangail Zilla Parishad inaugurated the Shaheed Minar next to the Muktijedhda Complex at the old bus stand on Wednesday morning.
Members of Parliament Khan Ahmed Shuvo, Upazila Parishad Chairman Mir Enayet Montu, Municipal Mayor Salma Akhtar Shimul, Mirzapur Shaheed Bhabani Prasad Saha Government College Acting Principal Tahmina Jahan, Upazila Executive Officer Md. Hafizur Rahman, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Aminul Islam Bulbul, Upzilla A.League President Mir Sharif Mahamud, General Secretary Barrister Tahrim Hossain Shimando and others.
The central Shaheed Minar of Mirzapur, built on College Road in 1967, was unprotected and dilapidated for a long time. Due to lack of space, there were various problems in paying respect to language martyrs and other martyrs. Member of Parliament Khan Ahmed Shubo constructed the Shaheed Minar at a cost of Tk 26 lakh from his own funding next to the old bus stand Muktijoddha Complex.
