New academic bldg of Nawab Askari High School opens

The newly-constructed academic building of Nawab Askari Adarsha High School at Kanchan, Rupganj Upazila in Narayanganj was inaugurated on Saturday.

Deputy Managing Director of Gazi Group Gazi Golam Murtaza Pappa and COO of Sikder Group Syed Qamrul Islam Mohon jointly inaugurated the building on the school premises.

Gazi Golam Murtaza Pappa graced the opening ceremony as the chief guest, on behalf of Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, while COO of Sikder Group and President of the school Syed Qamrul Islam Mohon was present as the special guest. 

Headmaster Mohammad Shamim Bhuiyan, teachers, students, and political leaders and activists were present at the programme.

While speaking at the event Golam Murtaza Pappa said, “Teachers have to play a major role in the development of students’ merit and ensuring their engagement in sports. As sports play a major role in building students’ mental health and physical fitness, I want to see this historic educational institution’s students in the first row both in sports and education.” 

COO of Sikder Group and President of the school Syed Qamrul Islam Mohon in his speech said, “Country's education system has tremendously developed under the present government. The new building is the reflection of the development of our education sector.”

“The school is a historic educational institute. After taking charge of the school, Sikder Group always stays concerned for its development. We want to assure everyone that our efforts will continue for further development of the school in the coming days,” he added.

Headmaster of the School Mohammad Shamim Bhuiyan urged the authorities concerned to provide all the latest facilities related to educational development, including digital labs, for further betterment of the students. 

Two new floors have been added vertically to the one-story academic building with the financial help of Rick Haque Sikder, the Chairman Askari Jute Mills Limited Chairman.
