“Neela Roy might be raped before the murder as we found such signs on her body during autopsy. Even if not raped, the killers tried to rape her, as there were several signs we found on her body.
Moreover, the killers killed her brutally as there were multiple thrust signs of sharp weapons, above on her lower abdomen, and the injury on the side of her eye was too deep.
However, samples have been collected and sent to the lab and whether she was raped or not it would be confirmed after getting the report”, a reliable morgue source of Shahid Suhrawardi medical college and hospital of the capital told The Bangladesh Post on Wednesday.
On the other hand, police have arrested a man named Selim Palwan, 35 for his alleged involvement with the murder by conducting a drive at Aricha Ghat area of Manikganj on early Wednesday, although police yet to arrest the prime accused of the case.
The arrestee was identified as Selim Palowan, 28, son of Hafez Palowan, hailed from Bagrhat district. He lives at Bank colony area of Savar, along with his family.
Mohammad Saiful Islam, Inspector of Savar model police station confirmed the matter to The Bangladesh post. “We conducted a drive on Tuesday midnight at Aricha Ghat area of Manikganj based on secret information and arrested him while he was trying to flee, and the operation to arrest the prime accused of this case is underway”, Saiful Islam said. In addition, “Selim Palowan is one of the closest associate to the prime accused, Mizanur Rahman, of this murder case”.
Meanwhile, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) started investigation into the schoolgirl murder besides police, and CID men already visits the murder spot and collected samples and signs from the crime scene.
Earlier, Narayan Roy, father of the deceased Neela Roy, filed a case mentioning the name of three people including the prime accused Mizanur Rahman 21, his father Abdur Rahman 60, and his mother Nazmun Nahar 50, with Savar Model police station in this connection on last Monday. Besides, 3 to 4 people have been made anonymous accused in this case.
Notably, Neela Roy, a tenth grader of Savar ACED school, was brutally killed by an eve teaser on Sunday night. According to the case statement, Mizanur Rahman Mizan, the prime accused of this case, forcibly took Neela to an abandoned house at Dakkhin Para area of Savar, and randomly stubbed her with both hand, while, Neela and her brother Alok Roy were returning to home around 9:00 pm on Sanday night.
Family of the deceased alleged, Mizan brutally killed Neela for refusing his love proposal.
Saiful Islam, Inspector of Savar Model police station said, “operation underway to arrest other accused of the case".
