New Textbook Distribution Festival-2023 was observed in Chuadanga district following discussion, decorating schools, putting on well dresses of students and gathering of parents of the students on January 1.
It is learnt, all primary schools in the district were decorated with colorful papers and stages on the day. Students attended the programmes for taking new text books putting on well dresses. Besides parents appeared with their sons and daughters for enjoying the festival.
According to District Primary Education Office, a total of 12,94,605 books of different classes have been supplied by directorate of Primary Education to the district office for distribution in four upazilas of the district. District Primary Education Office sent these books to the Upazila Education Offices.
Upazila wise breaks up are-3,13,275 books in sadar upazila, 4,85,150 books in Alamdanga upazila, 3,08,500 books in Damurhuada upazila and 1,87,680 books in Jibannagar upazila.
The Book Distribution Festival was inaugurated by Mohammad Aminul Islam Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Chuadanga on the premises of Kedargonj Model Government Primary School in the district town on the day.
An inaugural function was held with Mostafizur Rahman, DPEO, in the chair. Najmul Hamid Reja, ADC (general), Shamim Bhuya, UNO of Sadar Upazila and Shahajadi Mili, Vice-chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad were present as special guests.
