NDP celebrates 32nd founding anniv

The National Democratic Party (NDP) has observed its 32nd founding anniversary. On the occasion, the party arranged a discussion at its central office at Nayapaltan in the capital on Friday (September 10). A cake was also cut at the function. 

NDP chairman Khandaker Golam Mortuza presided over the event, while the party’s secretary general Md Manjur Hossain Isa delivered the welcome speech. It was addressed, among others, by secretary general of Bangladesh National Awami Party (Bangladesh NAP) M Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan, chairman of Bangladesh Labour Party Hamdullah Al Mehdi, president of Bangladesh Gana Sanskriti Dal Shams Al Mamun, convener of Democratic Unity Rafiqul Islam, NDP vice chairman Raju Ahmed, joint secretary general Hayat Mahmud, office secretary RK Ripon, member secretary of Dhaka city unit Abdur Rahim Zahid and Md Jobayerul Islam Jibon. 

Speaking at the discussion, Khandaker Golam Mortuza called for national unity to protect democracy and the constitution. He said that the Election Commission must ensure the proper environment of polls as people have lost their trust to the polls. If the situation continues, evil and undemocratic forces may emerge, he added. 

The NDP chairman called upon the leaders and activities of his party to spread the party’s activities in the country.
