National Defence College (NDC) is stepping ahead to match with Corona Virus environment, said ISPR. NDC took another step towards Digital Bangladesh by adopting online live classes for course members at different locations.
On very short notice, NDC planned and implemented online classes from on Saturday. The step was taken due to the evolving corona virus situation to avoid close contact amongst the course members. The professors and guest speakers are delivering their lectures from their places of convenience and the course members are attending the same over live video streaming, remaining at their residence.
They are also participating in the interactive session with the professors and guest speakers by using the same platform. This facility is being availed by 82 Course Members of NDC and also by the Course Members of Armed Forces War Course. Video conferencing platforms so far are used in business and official arena in Bangladesh.
NDC’s effort in this expanded use of video conferencing for online live classes is probably the pioneer in educational field in Bangladesh. “It would maintain the pursuance of knowledge to a great extent in this critical period of isolation and social distancing” said Lieutenant General Sheikh Mamun Khaled, Commandant of NDC.
It is mentionable that NDC had introduced online learning management system since 2019 and it is promoting paperless educational environment.
