As part of its ‘July journey to build the nation’ programme, central leaders of the National Citizen Party (NCP) visited a martyr’s family in Bogura on Saturday . Led by NCP Central Convener Nahid Islam and accompanied by Dr Tasnim Zara, senior and local leaders met with the family at a city hotel around 10am.
During the meeting, Nahid Islam stated, “Marking our one-year anniversary, we are connecting with the people and revisiting the vision of the martyrs. Our bond with martyr families transcends politics—it is a relationship of the soul. Their sacrifice is irreparable and our struggle to build their dreamed nation must continue.”
He stressed the need for ensuring the full safety and dignity of martyr families, adding, “The allies of autocracy still exist. Before holding any election, justice and institutional reforms must be ensured.”
The NCP’s “July Journey” seeks to raise national awareness on justice reform, a fresh constitution and an inclusive democratic framework.
The day’s programme includes a rally from Colony Polytechnic to Satmatha, concluding with an open street assembly. Senior leaders including Samanta Sharmin, Akhtar Hossain, Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah were also present, reiterating the party’s nationwide commitment.
