A high flying Nazmul XI will face off Tamim XI in the third match of the BCB President’s Cup at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Thursday with an aim to keep up the winning spree, reports BSS.

The match which starts at 1.30 PM, will be streamed live on the official facebook page of BCB and Youtube Channel. While Nazmul XI made a good start to the tournament by beating Mahmudullah XI by four wickets, Tamim XI conceded a defeat to Mahmudullah XI in their first match by the same margin.

A victory in their second match will help Nazmul XI to make giant strides towards the final. In contrast, a defeat will leave Tamim XI in a tricky state.

What will haunt Tamim XI that they were bowled out for just 103 runs in their first match as no batsmen from the team could stand tall in a slow pitch, which demanded calculative cricket.

Nazmul XI on the other hand chased 196 by Mahmudullah XI to win the game. The architect of their victory was two youngsters—Towhid Ridoy and Irfan Shukkur, who helped the side recover from a wobbly start to win the game with utmost ease. Both of them struck half-century and shared a 105-run partnership.

However rather than their batting, Towhid Riyad said, it’s their fielding which stood out.

“If we say the best aspect of our team, then our fielding is much better. Everyone is very active, everyone tries to save the ball with their best. And everyone is very aware of their own side, our team is very young,” Towhid Ridoy said ahead of the match.

He knew that the match against Tamim XI will be a challenging one but he said they are ready to deal with that.

“Every match here will be very challenging, our game with Tamim XI (tomorrow) will pose a different challenge. They are a very tough team, there are bowlers like Mustafizur and there are many good bowlers out there,” he remarked.

Nevertheless, Ridoy is confident about their chance as he said they would focus on their own strength rather than thinking about the opponents.

“In fact, we are focusing on our own side, we hope we can go to the field and apply ourselves well. Our top order made some mistakes in the first match. We will try to overcome the mistakes that we made in the first match,” he disclosed.
