Navy chief meets PM

Newly appointed Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral M Nazmul Hassan on Monday paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganabhaban in the capital Dhaka. During the meeting, they discussed different issues, said ISPR.

The premier congratulated the new navy chief by presenting a bouquet and wished his success. Hassan also greeted the prime minister by presenting a bouquet and sought her blessing. Prime Minister said, “Our sea area is a huge field of potential. In addition to protecting its sovereignty, the Navy is working relentlessly in the exploitation of marine resources, the security of maritime trade and the development of the blue economy.”

 She also said that as part of the implementation of Forces Goal 2030 for the development of the armed forces during the current government, modern submarines and maximum number of warships have been added to the navy, naval aviation with helicopters and maritime patrol aircraft and the Special Warfare Diving and Salvage (SWADS) have been developed. Through this, Bangladesh Navy is well established as a three-dimensional, efficient and smart force. Prime Minister expressed hope that under the leadership of the newly appointed chief of navy, Bangladesh Navy will become a more modern, up-to-date and powerful force.

Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral M Nazmul Hassan expressed his firm belief in the formation of a 'Smart Navy' through the combined efforts of naval personnel of all levels in light of the spirit of the great liberation war, the ideals of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the guidance of the Prime Minister.
