Advocate Nurul Haq has been elected the President of the Mymensingh Bar Unit of the Nationalist Lawyers Forum. In the biennial election, Advocate Masud Tanvir Tanna was elected to the post of General Secretary.
The final results were announced on Saturday night, following the organization's conference and election held that day. The chief guest at the conference was Barrister Kaiser Kamal, the Secretary General of the Nationalist Lawyers Forum Central Committee and the Law Secretary of the BNP National Executive Committee.
In the election, Advocate Akram Hossain was elected as Vice-President, Advocate Tofazzal Hossain as Joint Secretary, and Advocate Osman Gani Mallik Makhan as Organizing Secretary.
There were a total of 307 voters. Due to the death of two members, 305 voters had the opportunity to cast their votes. A total of 12 candidates contested for 5 posts, including two panels and two independent candidates.
The Presiding Officer of the election, Md. Mamunzul Hasan Jewel, said, "The bar premises were festive with the presence of voters. The election was completed in a peaceful environment. The results were announced afterwards."
Newly elected President Advocate Nurul Haq said, "I will work to further unite the Nationalist Lawyers Forum. Furthermore, efforts will be made to keep the organization active in establishing justice and restoring democracy."
