National Statistics Day observed in Dinajpur

Dinajpur District Statistics Bureau organised a discussion meeting at Dinajpur Deputy Commissioner's Office (Kanchan Hall Room) on Saturday morning marking National Statistics Day-2021. 

“Reliable Statistics Part of Sustainable Development”, with this theme National Statistics Day is being observed in the country for the first time.

Deputy Commissioner of Dinajpur Khaled Mohammad Zaki presided over the discussion held on the occasion while, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Shariful Islam, Civil Surgeon Md Abdus Quddus, Municipal Mayor Syed Jahangir Alam, Dinajpur District Bureau of Statistics Deputy Director Md Shafiqul Islam and others were present. 

DC Khaled Mohammad Zaki said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared February 27 as the ‘National Statistics Day’ at the Cabinet meeting held on June 8 in 2020. To this end, there were special programmes taken to celebrate the National Statistics Day-2021 in a grand manner, but it is being observed in a limited extent due to the risk of corona epidemic”. 

District Statistics Office, Dinajpur building was decorated with lights on the occasion of ‘National Statistics Day-2021’. Dinajpur’s Biral Upazila Statistics Officer Arpana Khatun was in charge of organizing the programme while, Md Shafiqul Islam, Deputy Director of District Statistics Office conducted it.
