The National Mourning Day and the 46th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed in Panchagarh town on Sunday.
In observance of the day, wreaths were placed at the mural of Bangabandhu near Circuit house from 8 am.
Md Mojaharul Houque Prodhan, MP of Panchagarh-1 constituency first placed a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu.
Deputy Commissioner Johurul Islam, police super Yousuf Ali, Zila parished chairman Anower Sadat Samrat and sadar upazila chairman Amirul Islam also placed wreaths.
Apart from this, people from all walks of life, Awami League and its associate bodies and the socio-cultural organisations paid homage marking the day.
