National Girl Child Day observed in Gurudaspur

The National Girl Child Day was observed in Gurudaspur upazila of Natore on Monday with a view to developing girl children as worthy citizens for building a prosperous Bangladesh.

A discussion was held at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium at 11:00am on the day to mark the day. It was organised by Upazila administration and Upazila Women Affairs Officer's office.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Salma Akter presided over the meeting. Secondary Education Officer Md Selim Akter, Social Service Officer Shafikul Islam, Women Affairs Officer Rekhamoni Parvin and others were present as special guests. 

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Salma Akter, during her speech, gave directives to girl children and assured support in fulfilling their dreams.

She said girls are the future leaders. If they get proper guidance and support, they will build the bright future of Bangladesh. 

Speakers put emphasis on the rights, opportunities and dreams of the girls. They urged everyone to work together for their development.

The girl children and their guardians, who were present at the discussion, celebrated the day with a joyous environment.
