National Fisheries Week begins in Rajbari

A press conference has been held on the occasion of Fisheries Week-2021 at the initiative of Rajbari District Fisheries Department.

The press conference was held on August 28 at around 11:30 am in the conference room of the district fisheries department. It was attended by 24 journalists working in different media. 

Rajbari District Fisheries Officer Md Roknuzzaman presided over the function. 

Khandaker Rabiul Islam (Majnu), district correspondent of Pratidin Sangbad, Sheikh Ali Al Mamun, correspondent of Vijay TV, Kamrul Mithu, correspondent of Ananda Television and others.

At the press conference, the Fisheries Office informed that the National Fisheries Week will be celebrated from August 28 to September 3. Like all over the country, various programs have been taken up in Rajbari and throughout the week. 

These include discussion meetings, release of fish fry, discussions and  demonstrations on the progress made by the present government in the fisheries sector, various programs including raising awareness on fish farming in crowded haat bazaars.

District Fisheries Officer Mohammad Roknuzzaman said the government has allocated Tk 90,000 for the week-long programme. 

Fsh fries will be released in the DC residence pond and Zila Parishad pond. A total of 55 kg fish fries will be released in those two ponds, he added.
