The National Co-operative Day was celebrated in Chitalmari, Bagerhat, on Saturday, under the banner of the theme "Co-operatives Build the Nation with Equality and Equity."
The day's events commenced at 10 a.m. with a colorful rally that started from the Upazila Parishad premises. This was followed by a discussion meeting held at the upazila auditorium.
Mr. Md. Sazzad Hossain, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Chitalmari, attended the program as the chief guest.
The discussion session was presided over by Mr. Molla Saiful Islam, the Upazila Co-operative Officer. Mr. Md. Sifath-Al-Maruf, the Upazila Agriculture Officer, was present as a special guest and addressed the audience.
Among others, co-operative members Shipra Majumdar, Bharati Mondal, and Chanda Mondal also spoke at the event.
Following the discussion, loan cheques were formally disbursed to co-operative members Chanda Mondal and Krishna Mondal.
