National Swimming and Diving Championship 2025 will get underway from today at the Natinal Swimming Complex, Mirpur.
Organsied by the Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF), a total of 550 swimmers of different age groups (boys and girls) from Divisional and District Sports Associations (DSAs), swimming clubs and Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Pratisthan (BKSP) are taking part in the four-day national meet when 110 team’s officials and 100 meet oficials are also the part of the program.
Swimmers will compete in 100 events and the divers will participate in four evens in the four-day meet when apart from cash award, winners will also be awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals.
Mahbubur Rahman Shaheen, General Secretary of the BSF disclosed all in a press conference on Tuesday at the Dutch Bangla Bank Auditorium of the Bangladesh Olympic Association.
Shahin informed that the budget of the tournament was estimated for the competition for Taka 45,00,0000 when besides the local team (inside Dhaka) including BKSP, all swimmers and the team officials of the DSAs from across the country will be provided the accommodations, conveyances.
Mahbubur Rahman informed that who could set record will be rewarded with Taka 5000, gold medal winners will receive Taka 2000, silver and bronze medalist will be given Taka 1000 and 500 repectively.
Mizanur Rahman, vice-president of the BSF will inaugurate the competition as the chief guest today when Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan, Chief of Bangladesh Naval Staff, president of the BSF will distribute prizes among the winners as the chief guest on May 4.
