The national budget for fiscal year (2021-2022) passed in the Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday, is a realistic and time-befitting one. We think as the new budget has been formulated after taking opinions, advice from economists, other concerns and coordinating with the manifestation of the ruling Awami League, it will be able protect the lives and livelihood of the country’s people amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Apart from keep protecting lives and livelihoods, and running business activities during this pandemic, the government will also have to vaccinate all the citizens of the country free of cost.
The national budget involving Taka 6, 03,681 crore titled "Bangladesh towards a resilient future protecting lives and livelihoods" for the next fiscal was passed on June 30, which was also the last day of the outgoing fiscal year (FY21).

And Bangladesh has begun its new fiscal year on July 1 with new resolve, new hope, and new vision. However, the government may face several challenges to implement the budget as many analysts fear it will be a tough job due to the continued Covid-19 onslaught.
We think only a well-planned budget can determine and help the government that how and in what way it will continue to expedite economic recovery and bolster its efforts to save the lives and livelihoods of country’s people in the new fiscal. The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led government has never failed to implement budgets and will also not fail this time as well.
We believe that the government has the capacity to implement the budget keeping people’s lives and livelihoods in mind amid coronavirus hurdles.
