Narail PTI improving quality of primary education

Narail Primary Teacher’s Training Institute (PTI) in improving quality of primary education. Its foundation stone was laid in 2012 on 1.5 acres of land in Machhimdia area of Narail town.

On January 1 in 2016, the Institute started its official journey by starting the training of primary school teachers. Primary teachers and the district primary education department officials said quality of primary education in the district has improved with the established of PTI. 

The present Awami League government has opened 12 new PTI’s including Narail, Gopalganj, Rajbari and Shariatpur with aim of improving the quality of primary education from urban to rural level.

Narail PTI authority has capacity to train 200 primary teachers every year. The number of teacher-trainees is 151 this year in the Institute. Teacher-trainees are very happy to be able to receive training in a very pleasant environment including multimedia classes, methods of using different materials for children and students. 

Sources said Narail PTI has a three-storey administrative building and academic building, a two-storey Superintendent’s residence building and a six-storey hostel building with a capacity of 200 Teacher trainees. 

Narail PTI Superintendent Suvhash Kumar Biswas said, the Institue supposed to have 18 trainers; the activities were being carried out with 6 trainers and 2 assistant superintendents. 

When the trainers’ crisis is over, the trainees can be provided training more effectively. It was not possible to provide training to the required number of teachers in the district before the established of Narail PTI, he said.
