Allegations in the distribution of relief items on the occasion of corona virus against No.7 UP Member Hossen Mia, No.8 UP Member Mohammad Ali, and UP member Saidur Rahman of 6 No. Katkhal Union Parishad of Mithamin Upazila.
Apart from that there are further allegations that the names of 40 unemployed families were not included in the list of relief items.
Among the relief workers, Aklima Akhter of Kakua village in Ward 8 complained that they were day laborers. Although corona viruses have been ineffective, none of them have received any relief so far.
Taher Ali, a day laborer deprived of relief in Ward 7, Hajera Khatun in Ward 8 and Shahera in Ward 9 said they did not find any relief items among the relief workers who came to Katkhal Union after the outbreak of corona virus.
They complained that they had informed the concerned ward members that they would not be given relief if they went for relief. At present, they are half-starved.
The relief workers complained that these UP members have included the names of their relatives in the list. The list even includes Rahela Khatun, wife of UP member Mohammad Ali of Ward 8, and two sons, Atiq and Saiful.
Ellash Mia and his wife Parveen are also on the list.
There is also the name of Hossain Miah, the son of Dalia Akhter, a female member of the reserved seat. Thus, there are many names in the relief list in these three wards.
Accused 8 No. UP member Mohammad Ali said there were 120 names in his ward. He listed it correctly. However, he said that he would try to give the names of those who could not be given in any list when the opportunity arises.
Hossain Mia, a UP member of the 7 No. ward and Saidur Rahman, a UP member of the 9 No. ward of the same union could not be found even after trying on their mobile phones. They did not pick up the phone.
Katkhal UP Chairman Tajul Islam said, the list is made by the UP members of the respective wards. He knows nothing about the allegations.
