Allegations have been made that in the dark of the night illegal constructions have been made by occupying the Nalchiti municipality land that was kept for constructing the multi-story building of the Coastal Down Project.
Document writer Mizanur Rahman Mollah has occupied the municipal land in Venderpatti area adjacent to the girls secondary school of the upazila in the middle of the night on Monday.
On Tuesday afternoon, the locals complained that deed writer Mizan Mollah, had illegally built a tin shed stall on the municipal land in the dark of night. They also said that a multi-storey building was to be constructed here in a few days from the municipality. Suddenly last midnight there built an illegal installation.
Municipal Mayor Abdul Waheed Kabir Khan said, “After learning about the incident, I visited the spot and stopped the work. They have been asked to clarify why they have done such deed. They have been asked to show if they have valid documents. If their work does not match the legitimacy than action will be taken.
Deed writer Mizanur Rahman Mollah said, “I have built the stall on the land of the municipality but the land was leased from the municipality before the expiration of the contract. The risky building there was demolished by the municipal authorities. Now I have built a temporary installation in that place.
Temporary installations will be removed when the municipality allocates us new stalls.”
