Bangladesh women's national cricketer Nahida Akter officially received the ICC women’s player of the year award on Tuesday.

Nahida emerged as the first Bangladeshi women cricketer to adjudge the ICC women’s player for the month of November 2023, beating Fargana Haque of Bangladesh and Sadia Iqbal of Pakistan.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Nizam Uddin Chowdhury handed over a glorious ICC award to Nahida Akter at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium at Mipur on the day.  The Chief of the BCB Women's Cricket, Habibul Bashar Sumon, was also present on the occasion. Bangladesh women's cricket team created history by beating Pakistan in a T20 series last August.

Bangladesh women's team also beat Pakistan 2-1 in the ODI series in November, where Nahida emerged as the player of the series, grabbing seven wickets.
